Bhubaneswar, Feb. 14 -- The Odisha Excise Department on Friday conducted a raid at the bar of Hotel Indraprastha following allegations of sale of expired liquor. The establishment is located on Railway Station Road in Bolangir.

According to officials, customers had complained that expired liquor was being sold at the bar. Acting on the complaint, the Excise team carried out a surprise inspection and seized cartons of expired beer from the premises.

Documents examined during the raid reportedly revealed that the liquor had been procured from the government English liquor warehouse in Sonepur.

The department registered an SIR, Severe Irregularity Report, against the bar owner for failing to comply with mandatory procedures.
