Bhubaneswar, Aug. 26 -- The former principal of Dutika Sahu College at Laida in Sambalpur came under the Odisha Vigilance department's scanner over allegations of financial irregularities involving around Rs 2.5 crore.

Former principal Basant Kumar Naik is currently under Vigilance scrutiny over the alleged misappropriation of college funds. The team also examined various official documents and records related to financial transactions at the institution.

Naik served as the college principal for around seven years. During his tenure, allegations surfaced that approximately Rs 2.5 crore was misappropriated from the college fund.
