Bhubaneswar, May 30 -- In a shocking twist to what initially appeared to be a fatal road accident, Commissionerate Police have revealed that the death of an engineering student in Bhubaneswar's Chandrasekharpur area was allegedly a premeditated murder linked to a love triangle.

The victim, identified as Baren Rautray, was killed near Acharya Harihar College Square on Friday night after being allegedly run over by a Thar. Police investigations have now established that the incident was not an accident but a deliberate act of murder.

Addressing the media on Sunday, police said five persons, including the owner of the car used in the crime, have been arrested in connection with the case.
