India, Oct. 8 -- Indian cinema has lost one of its most distinctive and commanding performers. Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa.

According to reports citing ANI, he was found unconscious and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Dr Shekhar Salkar of Manipal Hospital said that despite 45 minutes of continuous CPR, the actor could not be revived. A medico-legal case has been registered and a post-mortem is scheduled.
