Bhubaneswar, Feb. 15 -- In a deeply saddening development for the Odia music fraternity, eminent singer Geeta Pattnaik passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack. She had reportedly fallen ill during a literary programme, after which her health deteriorated rapidly.

According to reports, Geeta had been in a critical condition since 12 February following a brain stroke. She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Cuttack after reportedly suffering a cerebral stroke on Thursday. Despite receiving medical care, she could not recover.
