Bhubaneswar, June 21 -- Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday said that India's dream bullet train project will become operational in 2027 and will be opened section by section.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 12th annual International Day of Yoga in Bikaner, Vaishnaw said, "The dream project of the bullet train will be operational in 2027 and will open section by section. This dream will be fulfilled in 2027."

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, India's first bullet train project, is currently under construction. While work on the corridor has progressed in phases, the government has reiterated its commitment to completing and operationalising the project in 2027.
