Bhubaneswar, June 17 -- A woman and her sister-in-law died after coming in contact with a live electric wire that had snapped during Tuesday night's Kalbaisakhi storm in Ranjagola village under Hindol area of Dhenkanal district.

The deceased have been identified as Ranju Dehuri and Manisha Dehuri. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, leaving the family and villagers in shock.

According to reports, a power line had snapped and fallen in the backyard of the house during Tuesday night's storm. However, none of the family members were aware that the wire was lying there and was still carrying electricity.
