Bhubaneswar, Oct. 29 -- Continuous rainfall over the past two days triggered a landslide on the Balibada Ghati road in Mohana block of Gajapati district in Odisha, blocking the route and disrupting communication with six villages.

Three trees were also uprooted as the hillside gave way, leaving the road blocked. The affected villages depend on this road for connectivity. Waterlogging has also affected another stretch of the road, adding to the problems faced by residents.

A villager said the administration was informed about the road blockage on Tuesday, but no response had been received. The villager also said attempts to contact the local sarpanch had failed, as the call went unanswered.
