Bhubaneswar, Oct. 30 -- The impact of Cyclone Arnab and the subsequent floods has left several villages in Odisha facing a shortage of clean drinking water. Floodwater has inundated villages, contaminating almost all local water sources. This has made it difficult for affected residents to access safe drinking water.

The situation has raised concerns over an acute shortage of drinking water and the growing risk of waterborne diseases among flood-affected communities.

In view of the situation, Odisha Government's Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department has taken urgent steps to address the drinking water crisis. It has deployed water treatment vans to ensure the supply of safe drinking water to flood-affected residents.
