Bhubaneswar, April 7 -- In a major operation against cattle smuggling, Odisha Police detained five individuals and seized nearly Rs 20 lakh in cash, along with firearms and other weapons, during late-night raids across multiple locations in Bhadrak district.
The police action was carried out at eight locations suspected of being linked to an organized cattle smuggling network. The raids targeted areas in Bhadrak's Puruna Bazar, Gujidarada, and extended to Santhia, Nangamahala, and Alalpur. The operation was part of an ongoing crackdown to dismantle the illegal activities of the cattle mafia in the region.
