Bhubaneswar, Aug. 7 -- The Baripada Vigilance arrested two former employees on Thursday in connection with the alleged misappropriation of more than Rs 64 lakh at the Bahalda branch of the Mayurbhanj Central Co-operative Bank. The arrests were made after a major financial fraud was unearthed at the bank.

The arrested individuals have been identified as the former Bahalda branch manager Dichen Mishra and former bank employee Malay Kumar Dutta. They fraudulently opened fake loan accounts and allegedly siphoned off lakhs of rupees.

According to reports, three other employees were also involved along with the two accused. They allegedly misused 29 fixed deposits belonging to customers without their knowledge between 2019 and 2024. They furt...
