Closed counters, growing queues: As Odisha prepares to celebrate, bank strike disrupts everyday transactions
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Banking services were disrupted across Odisha as bank employees joined the nationwide strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) on September 11. Due to the nationwide strike, customers and businesses across Odisha are facing a prolonged closure of bank branches.
The strike, which began over a four-point charter of demands including a five-day working week, coincided with the second Saturday, Sunday and government holidays for Ganesh Puja and Nuakhai.
As a result, bank branches in Odisha will remain closed for several consecutive days. Following this period, services are expected to return to normal from September 16.
