Bhubaneswar, Feb. 14 -- In a major breakthrough, Odisha Police on Saturday arrested one of the two inmates who had managed to escape from the Choudwar Jail in Cuttack district. The accused was apprehended from the Vrindavan Math area following sustained efforts by law enforcement agencies.

According to official sources, the two prisoners had managed to flee from the high-security Choudwar Circle Jail during the Dussehra festivities, triggering widespread concern and a massive manhunt. Taking advantage of the absence of a warder on duty, the duo allegedly cut through the bars of their cell and escaped from the facility.
