Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- Land ownership disputes involving acquisitions made during the colonial era continue to surface in Indian courts, often raising complex legal questions over historical records, compensation and property rights.

One such case has now reached the Supreme Court of India, where a Chhattisgarh farmer has sought thousands of crores in compensation, claiming that the land on which Raipur's airport stands belonged to his ancestors.
