Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested Brajkishore Bhoi alias Bapi in connection with the murder of Mahani Das at an abandoned building in Paikarapur under Odisha's Chandaka police limits. The old building, locally known as a 'haunted house', became the scene of the fatal attack on August 1. Bapi was arrested on Friday and later produced before the Court.

According to police, Mahani was sleeping inside the deserted building when Bapi allegedly attacked him with a bamboo stick. He allegedly struck Mahani repeatedly on the head, leaving him seriously injured. Two others identified as Bishnu Behera and Balaram Bhoi, also sustained injuries in the attack.
