Bhubaneswar, March 27 -- The railway budget allocation for Odisha witnessed a significant increase, rising 13-fold in the financial year 2025-26, informed RailwaysMinister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday. The total allocation for the state has now reached Rs 10,599 crore, marking a substantial boost in railway infrastructure development.

Highlighting the investment growth, the minister stated that between 2009 and 2014, Odisha received only Rs 838 crore in railway allocations. In comparison, the current allocation reflects a major enhancement, indicating the Centre's focus on strengthening rail connectivity in the state.
