Bhubaneswar, Oct. 31 -- The national census process will begin on January 25 in most of the states across the country and continue till February 28, according to a notification issued by the Central Government.

The enumeration process will be carried out again from March 1 to 5, as per the schedule announced by the Centre.

However, several states and regions have been excluded from the current schedule in view of upcoming elections and weather-related challenges, particularly snowfall in hilly areas.

Previously, Odisha had emerged as the leading state in the country in the ongoing census exercise, with more than 90 per cent of the house listing work already completed, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said in May....
