Bhubaneswar, Aug. 7 -- Over 100 people reportedly fell ill with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea after attending a housewarming feast at Kharida village under Jaleswar block in Odisha's Balasore district recently, officials said on Friday.

Over 60 people were said to be in a serious condition. More than 30 were children among those affected.

According to reports, villagers reportedly attended a feast on Wednesday night. After returning from the feast, several people began experiencing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea later that night.

Following this, family members immediately rushed the affected persons to a nearby hospital for treatment. Some critical patients were later shifted to Balasore for advanced medical care.
