Bhubaneswar, June 29 -- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday clarified that the proposed three-language policy will not be implemented for Class 10 students during the 2026-27 academic session.

The Board's clarification comes amid widespread confusion among students, parents, and schools regarding the rollout of the new language framework in CBSE-affiliated institutions.

In an official statement, CBSE said that Class 10 students will continue to follow the existing two-language system for the current academic year. The Board categorically stated that no Class 10 student will be required to study a third language in 2026-27, putting to rest concerns over any immediate changes to the curriculum.
