Bhubaneswar, Oct. 4 -- Open gyms were built to give people a place to exercise, stay active and improve their health without spending money. But several open gyms across Angul town are now struggling to serve the very purpose for which they were created.

The open gyms were once popular among youngsters to senior citizens, locals would visit the facilities in the morning and evening and work out regularly.

Reportedly, the open gyms were developed under the MUKTA scheme across 16 wards of Angul town, with more than Rs.6 lakh reportedly spent on each facility.
