Bhubaneswar, Aug. 7 -- A 25-year-old newlywed woman was allegedly murdered with an axe by her husband in Odisha's Cuttack district late on Wednesday night. The incident took place at Sahadevpur village under the Nemala police station limits, just 25 days after their marriage.

According to a report by The Times Of India, the deceased has been identified as Rozalin Mallik of Balisahi village in Kendrapara district. She had married Shailendra Mallik on July 12 in a traditional Hindu ceremony.

According to reports, the family went to sleep after dinner. The accused allegedly attacked Rozalin with an axe while she was asleep. She died on the spot due to the injuries. Later, the accused reportedly fled the house.
