Blue wildebeests, scarlet macaws to cassowaries: 58 exotic animals arrive at Bhubaneswar Nandankanan Zoo
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 14 -- Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar has added 58 animals from 14 exotic species following a special donation from the Radha Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust (RKTEWT) in Jamnagar, Gujarat, a part of Anant Ambani-led Vantara.
The animals were brought to the zoo on Saturday, as reported by The New Indian Express. The new arrivals include zebras, kangaroos, lemurs, wallabies, macaws, meerkats and other exotic species.
The latest addition comes as Nandankanan is also caring for five orangutan infants rescued from Bichitrapur forest in Balasore. The young primates are being kept under close observation as the zoo works to help them adjust to their new surroundings.
