Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- A tourist couple from Karnataka's Mysuru was allegedly assaulted by hotel employees in Odisha's Puri after they complained about finding a strand of hair in their food. The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday night at The Taste of Bengal hotel under the jurisdiction of Puri Sea Beach Police Station.

The couple, Bharat Chandra and his 23-year-old wife Susmita R, was reportedly seriously injured in the alleged assault. Susmita is pregnant and reportedly sustained an injury to her abdomen after it was hit against a table.
