Bhubaneswar, June 25 -- OdishaVigilance launched a massive investigation across 50 locations in the state on Thursday. The development follows allegations of large-scale financial irregularities and misappropriation of public funds under the previous BJD administration's "Ama Gaon Ama Bikash" scheme.

The multi-district operation focuses on suspected corruption within the procurement and installation of LED street lights in rural regions during the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23.

A team of 81 officials distributed across 24 specialised teams initiated the coordinate searches in Keonjhar, Nayagarh, and Jajpur districts.
