Bhubaneswar, Oct. 24 -- The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on Friday launched a major demolition drive in the Master Canteen area, targeting illegal structures that have been operating for several years.

The move is part of the authority's ongoing efforts to regulate urban development, redevelopment of Bhubaneswar railway station and clear unauthorized constructions in key city areas.

Several shops, hotels, and commercial establishments that were functioning without proper permits have been demolished. Among these, structures near the Bhubaneswar Railway Station were also removed, as they were constructed illegally and obstructed the ongoing redevelopment and modernization work in the area.
