Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16 -- Political tensions flared following a minor girl gang rape case in Bhubaneswar. The Leader of Opposition (LoP) and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik expressed concern over the incident on Tuesday, describing it as 'extremely disturbing and unsettling'.

The Opposition leader warned that 'brutality and lawlessness' are pushing the State Capital towards insecurity, leaving criminals fearless and undermining public trust in the State government.

Patnaik further criticised the State's failure to prevent crime, saying citizens are being left fearful due to inadequate action against offenders. He called on the Government to take urgent steps to ensure women's safety and curb criminal tendencies.
