Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29 -- Two women allegedly posing as high-profile customers have been arrested for duping a gold jewellery shop in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, by exchanging fake gold for genuine ornaments. The accused, reportedly part of a sister-in-law gang, allegedly targeted jewellery shops while appearing to be affluent customers looking to purchase expensive ornaments.

The women would reportedly visit shops dressed in a glamorous manner and negotiate for costly jewellery. After gaining the shopkeepers' confidence, they allegedly used the opportunity to hand over fake gold and leave with genuine ornaments.
