Bhubaneswar, April 3 -- In a major crackdown, Chandrasekharpur police have arrested eight persons, including four women on Thursday, for allegedly impersonating CID officers and extorting money from educational institutions and business establishments in Bhubaneswar. The accused were forwarded to court following their arrest.
The group was caught while demanding money outside a private educational institution under Chandrasekharpur police limits, where they had put up a red notice. Acting on information, police reached the spot and detained them.
