Bhubaneswar airport's Rs 1,000 cr terminal expansion awaits final approval
Bhubaneswar, June 7 -- The ambitious expansion of Bhubaneswar's Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) is still awaiting clearance from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), nearly a year after the project was redesigned to improve passenger convenience. The proposed Terminal-3 (T3) project is estimated to cost around Rs 1,000 crore.
Driven by a sharp rise in passenger traffic and growing air connectivity, AAI had proposed the construction of a new integrated terminal to significantly boost the airport's capacity and upgrade passenger facilities.
