Bhubaneswar, Sept. 26 -- Flood conditions returned to Bhadrak district for the seventh time this year as continuous rain triggered by a low-pressure area pushed the water levels of the Baitarani and Salandi rivers well above their danger marks.

The rising water has reportedly affected several low-lying areas. Floodwater entered parts of Bhandaripokhari and Bhadrak blocks. The district administration has stepped up preparations for rescue, relief and evacuation as the situation continues to be monitored.

At Akhuapada, the danger mark of the Baitarani river is 18.33 metres, while the water level is currently flowing at 19.30 metres.

At Rajghat, the danger mark of the Salandi river is 17 feet, while its current water level is above 18.70 ...
