Bhubaneswar, April 22 -- In a significant move aimed at streamlining vehicle regulations and ensuring road safety, the central government on Wednesday issued directives for the classification of all vehicles on the road. Vehicles will now be categorised based on their registration status, insurance, pollution certification, and fitness validity. The move aims to enhance accountability and enforce compliance across the country.

Under the new classification system, vehicles will be divided into four categories: Active Non-Compliance, Temporary Archive, Active Compliance, and Permanent Archive.
