Bhubaneswar, Oct. 15 -- A devastating fire broke out in Nuasahi village of Khallikote, Ganjam district, after a battery-operated scooter caught fire on Wednesday while being charged at home. The fire quickly escalated when a nearby LPG cylinder exploded, triggering a loud blast and setting a three-storey house ablaze.

The incident occurred at the residence of Ajit Mohanty, where the scooter was plugged in for charging. Within moments, the flames spread, and the explosion caused panic in the neighbourhood.

Fire services arrived swiftly and managed to bring the blaze under control. In a tense rescue operation, 11 people trapped inside the building were pulled out safely, preventing any casualties.
