Bhubaneswar, Oct. 12 -- A bomb attack at Banki Autonomous College in Odisha's Cuttack district damaged part of the building near the administration block on Sunday. Police began investigating a possible link to the upcoming students' union elections.

The incident comes amid tension over student polls as a similar suspected bomb explosion reported at Utkal University in Bhubaneswar on Sunday night.

According to reports, unidentified miscreants hurled a bomb near the administration block of Banki Autonomous College and fled from the area. The explosion damaged the building's windows and doors. It also destroyed furniture and caused a wall to collapse.
