Bhubaneswar, June 11 -- In a significant development in the much-discussed GRP constable Soumya Ranjan Swain murder case at Balianta on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, it has been revealed in the post-mortem report that the victim died due to a severe injury to the brain.

According to the report, Soumya had sustained as many as 21 grievous injuries on different parts of his body.

The medical examination further indicated that Soumya was repeatedly assaulted with a hard and heavy object, resulting in multiple serious wounds. The nature and extent of the injuries suggest a brutal attack prior to his death.
