Bhubaneswar, June 7 -- OdishaCrime Branch initiated a probe into allegations against ADG Dayal Gangwar in the Soumya Ranjan murder case and sought a report from the ADG, Railways and Coastal Security. The investigation will examine claims that the deceased GRP constable was subjected to harassment.

According to information, the Crime Branch wrote to the ADG, Railways and Coastal Security, seeking a report in the matter.

The move comes amid allegations that surfaced during the ongoing investigation into the death of GRP constable Soumya Ranjan. Officials are examining various aspects of the case, including claims regarding the nature of his deployment while serving in the Government Railway Police.
