Bhubaneswar, Feb. 26 -- An ammonia gas leak was reported at a cold storage facility in a potato warehouse in Aiginia, Bhubaneswar, late last night. The leakage, which began at around 01:00 am, caused concern among local residents due to a strong odour and irritation in the eyes and nose.

Fire Services teams brought the situation under control after nearly four hours of operation, during which repair work was carried out at the site.

According to reports, the leakage occurred near the refill area of the storage facility. Fire Department personnel immediately ascertained the source of the leak and initiated measures to contain it. Two fire teams were deployed at the spot and managed to control the situation.
