Amit Shah to introduce landmark Vande Mataram bill tomorrow, here's what the new bill says
India, July 19 -- The Centre is set to introduce a significant amendment aimed at giving the National Song 'Vande Mataram' the same legal protection as the National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana'. The proposed legislation, scheduled to be introduced during the Monsoon Session of Parliament beginning July 20, seeks to make any intentional insult to or obstruction of the singing of Vande Mataram a punishable offence, carrying a maximum jail term of three years, a fine, or both.
