In a dramatic turn of events on Friday, two individuals posing as beggars were caught red-handed after looting money from tourists at Puri beach. Thanks to the quick action of lifeguards stationed nearby, the stolen cash was recovered and returned to the victims.
According to reports, three tourists had visited the beach for leisure when they came across a woman beggar. The tourists allegedly asked her where they could buy liquor. She demanded money, promising to procure it for them.
Handing over Rs 500, the tourists received alcohol from her, which they consumed before reportedly falling unconscious on the sands.
