Bhubaneswar, April 20 -- The ceremonial commencement of Rath Yatra preparations will begin on Monday on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya with key rituals scheduled in Puri. Agricultural ceremonies are also set to be led by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi in Cuttack.

The ritual of Rath Katha Anukula will be held in Srikhetra, marking the formal beginning of chariot construction for the annual Rath Yatra. The construction of the chariots will commence on the Bada Danda for Lord Balabhadra.

Following the arrival and placement of the Agyan Mala of the deities, the Rath Katha Anukula ritual will be performed in front of the Shreenahar, initiating the traditional process of building the chariots.
