A mother's endless wait: Elderly woman in Keonjhar lives on forest twigs as son goes missing Andhra
Bhubaneswar, June 4 -- For 70-year-old Koili Soren of Jugalkishorepur village in Keonjhar's Ghasipura block, every day begins with a walk into the forest in search of twigs. She bundles them and sells them in local markets to earn enough money for a meal.
Living alone in her old age, Koili says she has no option but to continue working. Her husband is no longer with her, and her son, who had accompanied her to Andhra Pradesh for work, has been missing for nearly two years.
According to Koili, she had travelled to Andhra Pradesh with her son Pandab in search of work after finding it difficult to earn a living in the village. However, their lives took a painful turn when her son disappeared and never returned.
