Bhubaneswar, Oct. 21 -- Nearly a decade after the launch of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme on 21st October 2016, India's regional aviation landscape has undergone a dramatic transformation.
The initiative, aimed at making air travel affordable and enhancing connectivity to underserved and remote regions, has connected smaller towns, stimulated local economies, and brought air travel within reach of millions.
"UDAN turned flying from a distant dream into a part of everyday life, connecting small towns, creating jobs, and making air travel affordable for millions. The journey from "I wish I could fly" to "I can" continues to empower India," wrote BJP VP and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda in a post on X.
