Bhubaneswar, April 25 -- After eight years on the run, Prasanna Kumar Patra, the prime accused in a land encroachment case, was finally apprehended by the Crime Branch. The arrest took place on the April 23 in Cuttack, following a thorough investigation and multiple attempts to capture him. 

The case dates back to 2018, when Prasanna was accused of illegal land occupation, which led to a series of legal battles.

Despite several orders from the High Court to appear for questioning, Prasanna continued to evade authorities by committing further land encroachments. He remained a fugitive for nearly a decade, with multiple warrants issued for his arrest.
