Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- A mother who gave birth to her children, raised them, and built a life for them is now fighting to prove that she is alive. In a shocking case reported from Bhadrak, a 70-year-old woman has alleged that her two sons declared her dead on paper to take control of her property.

Sons Allegedly Declared Mother Dead

Aisha Bibi of Jayanagar Mouza under Dhamnagar tehsil alleged that her sons carried out the act in 2023 when she had gone on a pilgrimage. According to her complaint, the two sons submitted a false affidavit claiming that their mother had died 40 years earlier.

Aisha has further alleged that Dhamnagar RI Prakash Mallik submitted a government report declaring her dead without conducting an on-ground inquiry. ...
