Bhubaneswar, Aug. 5 -- The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday intensified its drive against Bangladeshi nationals allegedly residing illegally in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, with officials stepping up efforts to identify, detain and deport those found to be staying in violation of Indian immigration laws.

According to police, 48 Bangladeshi nationals have been deported from the Twin City over the past few months as part of the ongoing special operation. Of them, 32 were deported from Bhubaneswar and 16 from Cuttack after due legal procedures.

The crackdown is continuing, with the Commissionerate Police recently identifying six more Bangladeshi nationals who are allegedly residing in the region without valid authorisation....
