Bhubaneswar, Sept. 30 -- Odisha Vigilance, on Wednesday, arrested Umakant Samantaray, Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers, Sambalpur, in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

Samantaray was arrested after Vigilance searches at properties linked to him allegedly revealed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. He will be forwarded to the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, on Wednesday, officials said.

According to the Vigilance department, searches revealed four multi-storeyed buildings, including two in Bhubaneswar and one in Puri, besides a three-bedroom flat and 30 high-value plots. The agency also found 300 grams of gold, bank deposits amounting to Rs 36.78 lakh and a four-wheeler, among other assets.
