Bhubaneswar, May 28 -- Buzz surrounding 3 Idiots 2 had reached a fever pitch after Aamir Khan confirmed revisiting Rancho, Farhan and Raju years after the events of the original film. Adding to the excitement were rumours suggesting Vicky Kaushal could join the franchise as the "fourth idiot".

But while fans were expecting the sequel to move ahead soon, new reports indicate the project has now been pushed further, with Aamir choosing to begin work on a completely different film first.
