Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- Two men were rescued by the fire services personnel after they got trapped in floodwater near Siddheshwar in Odisha's Jajpur district on Friday.

An electricity department employee and a pump house worker were on night duty at an electricity station and water pump house when the water level rose suddenly around 3 am.

Both of them had planned to leave in the morning. But as the water kept rising, they could no longer get out. The floodwater eventually reached chest level, leaving them stranded at the spot for around five hours.

The situation was noticed when water started entering the pump house, raising concerns that the facility could be submerged. The fire department was informed that two employees were trapped...
