Bhubaneswar, Oct. 19 -- Two people were killed and two others were critically injured after a private ambulance met with an accident near Trishalpur Square on National Highway 16 in Odisha's Bhadrak district on Monday morning.

According to reports, the deceased have been identified as Malati Dandapath and her granddaughter, Khushi Guru. Khushi's parents, Baruna Guru and Shivnath Guru, sustained critical injuries.

The private ambulance was carrying a patient from West Bengal's Kharagpur to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Near Trishalpur Square, it reportedly rammed into the rear of a four-wheeler before crashing into a road divider.
