14 construction workers survive night on tree after river swells in Chhattisgarh, rescued
Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- Around 14 construction labourers spent an entire night perched on a tree after flash floods in Bagnai River, washing away their makeshift sheds in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district. The incident occurred at Bijaypal village on Sunday, situated close to the interstate border with Odisha.
As per reports, the incessant and heavy rainfall across the Gariaband catchment area triggered a sudden and rapid rise in the water level of the Bagnai River. The force of the floodwaters completely swept away the temporary huts built under the bridge where the construction workers were residing.
