Bhubaneswar, Feb. 15 -- In a landmark move to modernise the assessment process, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the implementation of On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 answer books starting with the 2026 examinations.

This digital shift, alongside the introduction of a second Board exam for Class 10, marks a significant reform in India's secondary education landscape.

The OSM system is reportedly designed to eliminate manual errors and streamline the declaration of results. Under this mechanism, physical answer scripts will be scanned into high-quality digital images at designated centres.
